Glass Abrasive Fingernail File

Transmitted Off Circular Polarized Light

This field of view contains glass fragments, fragments of the resin that held the glass abrasive to the
board backing, and bright scrapings from the fingernail itself. The glass fragments are the same color
as the background. The largest glass fragment is just above the free letters "Fi" at the bottom of the
image. The resin is orange colored in this sample. The fingernail fragments are quite small in this
image but their birefringence is high enough that they are still a little brighter than the background.
